Houzz Feature (!)

Is this real life?! 19 months into business and Houzz picks up my first full house remodel. That sounds so crazy and if you asked me this would be happening two years ago I’d laugh in your face. I am so very proud of this project.

We spent hours designing every detail of this kitchen. We were obsessed with making sure every single cabinet, upgrade, and insert was exactly how we (the client) wanted it. During these hours long meetings we even discussed where we were storing pots, pans, cutlery, and storage containers. It was a labor of love.

When Houzz reached out to question me about the backsplash I chuckled! Yup, my first press pick up and I laughed. Our original backsplash selection that we sourced from my favorite tile girl was (fortunately) discontinued by the time we placed the order. A huge bummer and a bump in the road that disappointed my client and I. I reassured her that things like this happen during the lifecycle of a project and that we just pivot our idea to find something even better.

I’ll never forget what happened next. My phone goes off one afternoon and I receive a text from my client who stumbled upon a new backsplash option out and about. She asked, “Do you think this will work? It’s a little too much but I really love it!” I quickly replied, “Yes, its perfect! Let’s do it!” The new selection mixed brass, marble, and showcased a round cut - a very special design moment, which was the perfect fit for the project.

I get emotionally attached to certain projects and clients and the Peacock Project is one of them. I am so proud of this moment for my business but also proud for my client. I know she lives in a home that she loves and enjoys with her family. That’s what makes it all worth it to me!

xx,

Alison
