Sourcing Corner: Selecting Wallpaper

A boys bathroom designed around a unique and fun wallpaper design.

Wallpaper can be considered trendy and sometimes a risk for certain clients but it’s one of my favorite ways to add interest, character, and color into a room. If a client is willing to add paper to a project I always select the wallpaper first. We build off the colors and patterns in the design and run wild!

If we are sourcing for a bathroom we’ll select tiles in similar shapes and patterns to have the space feel connected. For bedrooms and other rooms in a house we love to pull fabrics and accents from the paper. By approaching the designs this way it creates rooms that feel intentional and cohesive.

My all-time favorite wallpaper designer - Ellie Cashman - has been my go-to for some powder baths while I’ve sourced The Sister Suite project from various other vendors.

As I remind my clients on a regular basis “If you trust the process and your designer, the end results are worth it!” And, in the case of wallpaper, a room that creates that wow factor!

xx,

Alison
