Happy Anniversary!

So excited to be celebrating one year of CRD&CO!

WHAT. A. YEAR! I cannot believe I am celebrating my one year anniversary since launching CRD&CO. This past year has been a whirlwind. I signed 11 - yes 11 - clients within the past 12 months. I took on all the projects and all the jobs because I thought that's what you did as a business owner. I quickly learned that running a business is not for the faint of heart but it’s called growing pains for a reason, right?

With those 11 clients, I met some incredible humans and had the privilege of transforming some beautiful homes throughout New Jersey. I learned that mistakes happen, that life as a solo business owner is hard and that if you work yourself so much you’ll end up in the hospital. (Yup, I did that!) Year one wasn’t easy by any means but I’ve been reflecting on it and I am so proud of what I accomplished in just 12 short months.

I look ahead to year two and I am excited. I’ll be adopting the motto “less is more” when it comes to projects. I look to make adjustments on the backend of the business to make things more efficient for both my client experience and for my sanity! I also truly look to relaunch my marketing strategy because there is so much I want to share with the world. I want to build a community that allows me to inspire and to just be me.

Finally, as I celebrate this milestone I thank my clients from the bottom of my heart. You trusted me - a rookie designer - to create a home for you. We learned from one another, we chatted, we cried tears of joy when things started coming together and we connected in ways I never thought was possible. My dream was to find clients that I could “hang with” while we designed and in some cases I did that. I was privileged to meet clients that turned into lifelong friends and for that I am forever grateful.

If you’ve made it this far, it’s time to pop some champagne and celebrate. But tomorrow, it’s back to the office doing what I love, making your house a home!

xx,

Alison
